Top 10 July 16

Welcome back to yet another Top 10 best of the Internet, compiled by me a.k.a Mr Jon.
This week as usual we got Design, Photography, Illustration...You know the standard advertising stuff that get us all in the business revving.

But this week I also want to do a special shout out to a couple of friends of mine that are going on what might be the trip of their life time.

We all know people in our business that say, "Dude, I'm gonna take some time off, do some good in the world, donate cash and an ambulances to people in need...
...Well these guys, they where bullshitting us for so long, with a story exactly like this, that their backs was so far up against the wall there where no turning back...And good for them, next week they are off, driving a bright colored ambulance buss from London to Mongolia.

To follow these 3 musketeers on their journey check out their site Renegade Pencils
or follow them on Facebook. They might be updating us on their friendship where ever there is 3G or Wifi :)

Good Luck guys!

And for your other guys and gals that just came here to check out some neat stuff, enjoy that little adventure as well.

Until next week, Ta-Ta.
Mr. J

9. Richard Nabarro

In September 2008, Fedrigoni UK opened the doors to its London Showroom, a place to showcase its fine and speciality papers. The purpose was to have a space that would bring the paper company closer to the design community and offer a same-day sample service. Each month Fedrigoni UK holds various events in the showroom aimed at designers, from talks and exhibitions to games nights and awards. The showroom is also open for designers to use as a meeting space with their clients, exhibition space, sample library or private event space.

For this project, the challenge was to encourage more designers to visit and use the Fedrigoni London Showroom. In response, Fedrigoni paper, photography and digital manipulation were used extensively to create a set of posters. These designs emphasise the creative possibilities of paper, and communicate the spacial freedom provided by the London Showroom.

10. Old Spice guy personally thanks online fans

Old Spice and Wieden + Kennedy are well aware that they have a serious megahit on their hands with Isaiah Mustafa, aka "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like." He's done the two main TV spots, as well as the mustache clip, and now, in a truly fantastic addition to the campaign, he's doing a slew of personalized videos in which he thanks individual people—bloggers, YouTube commenters, Twitterers, celebrities—who've complimented his ads online. Check out his message to Apolo Ohno below, and see a crazy 18 more videos after the jump. The writing is all great, and the work takes the concept of a brand joining the conversation online to wonderful new levels. The only downside, of course, is that he hasn't done a video for us yet.
There must be more than 100 on Old Spice's YouTube channel by now.
